Everyone wants that happily-ever-after love story. For Ashley Greenhalgh from New Jersey, she received just that quite recently.
At her 21st birthday and high school graduation party on June 25, her boyfriend, Danny, presented her with something extraordinarily special: a promise ring!
Both Ashley and Danny were born with Down Syndrome, but that hasn’t prevented them from spending the past two years in a loving relationship together.
Of course you can imagine just how ecstatic Ashley was to receive such a surprise. As she opened up the ring box, she exclaimed, “I’m going to be married!” It’s such a heartwarming moment to watch, especially when Danny gets down on one knee to put the ring on her finger.
While they’ve discussed marriage before, Danny believes it’s not yet the right time for a marriage proposal. Instead, he decided to give her a beautiful promise ring for now; the best forever promise next to an engagement ring.
“Danny wanted to go out of his way to let my sister know that he will always be there for her and that he only has eyes for her. Danny saved up his own money from his job to get my sister a beautiful, diamond promise ring,” explained Ashley’s sister, Courtney Greenhalgh, on Facebook.
After hearing about all of the tragic events that have been happening around the world lately, it’s touching to hear such a positive story. Of course, nothing is more heartwarming than a man going out of his way to bring his girlfriend joy in a romantic way.
Luckily, this beautiful moment was captured on film and is quickly becoming viral. Courtney Greenhalgh posted the video of the romantic proposal on her Facebook which has received nearly a million views and has also been published on a variety of different news sources and online magazines.
Courtney hopes to spread the couple’s story across the web to liven up everyone’s day and to prove that everyone deserves someone special. Happy tears and smiles are bound to be brought on by this beautiful video!
