Break-ups are tough and awful. Whether you’re the dumper or dumpee, there are hurt feelings and heartbreak. Luckily, the pain doesn’t last forever. If you or a friend of yours are going through a break-up, these are some of the stages you should expect.
1. The Terrible Three: Shock, Anger, and Sadness
The most painful part of any break-up is the initial rush of emotions you have when it first happens. Even if you’ve been fighting or talking about it for some time, the shock of not having that person around can still have an impact.
2. Trying to Figure Out the Why’s, When’s, and How’s
After a little while, you will have accepted the reality of not being with that person anymore. You’re not as upset as you were before, but that doesn’t mean you have stopped thinking about it. You’re still over-analyzing where and when and how things fell apart.
3. Going a little Crazy for a While
There is a point where people get a little lost. Mostly when trying to think about what to do next and where to be. You’re searching for something, but you’re not even sure what that is. This can cause for some crazy times.
