They might have more money, more fame, and more free goody bags from desperate advertisers, but those things aside, celebrities are just like us. In fact, it seems that there is a whole sub-section of celebrities for whom intellectual ability is a rare phenomenon. Maybe this speaks for society’s obsession with the pretty and air-headed stereotype, or maybe the lights and pap-flashes have fried their brains. Whatever it is, these celebrities do a lot of stupid and embarrassing things, most of which are caught on camera.
This Canadian pop-star made his name on YouTube, before singing his way into the hearts of young girls the world over, and stumbling his way onto tabloids at the same time. In all fairness to Bieber, we were all young and stupid once, he’s just a little younger and stupider than most of us were.
Bieber fails could have, and probably do have their own website, so choosing just one is no easy task. One of the most memorable was when, during a sickening rendition of one of his cutesy songs, Bieber did the thing that many of us have come close to doing when hearing his music: he vomited everywhere. It wasn’t a pretty sight, but the same could be said for the time Bieber seemed to lose both his pants and his mind in front of the paparazzi in 2013, yelling an expletive-riddled and nonsensical outburst that his fans had a hard time forgiving him for.
Bieber has also caused much indignation when caught speeding in LA, grabbing a fan’s breast during a photo-shoot, and arriving several hours late to his own concert.
When your father is the Prince of Darkness, your mother is often labelled as a She-Devil, and your childhood is a reality TV program, life is never going to be simple. Kelly Osbourne seemed to make it through with a smile on her face, though, and she even had a career at the end of it. However, the life of a beloved celebrity is one misplaced comment away from turning sour, and that’s exactly what happened to poor Kelly this year.
When trying to launch an attack on Donald Trump, and doing her best to side with the many Latino Americans that the billionaire had mocked, she said, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to clean your toilet, Mr Trump?” The shocked reaction from the audience, the panelists, and even from Kelly herself was almost immediate. If you listened closely you could almost hear the sound of Kelly’s PR manager slowly kicking himself and wondering if it was too late to blame a troubled childhood.
An entertainer as decorated and as closely watched as Beyonce is sure to have a number of embarrassing moments. However, we’re not here to discuss the time she face-planted a set of stairs during an Orlando show in 2007, the time she tried to lip-sync at the Inauguration, or the time she caused an international incident when she chose Cuba as a destination for her wedding anniversary. We’re not even going to mention those things (oh, wait a minute…). As far as we’re concerned, the biggest fail from Beyonce occurred during the Superbowl, when the above picture was snapped.
When you’re dancing and strutting on stage, there is going to be a split-second when you don’t look your best, and the photographer captured this moment perfectly. However, Beyonce and her people made things much worse when they tried to remove this picture from the internet. Despite the fact that thousands, if not millions, of people had posted the picture, her PR team insisted that everyone deleted it and never spoke of it again.
Of course, the internet duly obliged to the Queen of Pop and promptly deleted the picture, never to speak of it again…
What Fergie describes as her most “unattractive moment” happened on stage in front of all of her fans. The picture tells a thousand words and Fergie admitted to the accident herself, blaming a rush of adrenaline following a long drive through heavy traffic. We’ve all been there, during those long car journeys, desperately hoping our bladders will hold. The only difference is that we usually find relief in a gas station bathroom, as opposed to a live stage with thousands of people watching.
