Alan Rickman had many iconic roles that left an impression on all of his fans. From Marvin the robot in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy to Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise, his characters were all interesting, elaborate, heartfelt, and at times hilarious.
It was a huge shock to the Harry Potter fandom when the news of his death was released on January 14, and many held wand lit vigils to him from various parts of the world. He passed away from pancreatic cancer, which he concealed from the public until his death.

He died on June 19 as a result of a freak accident in which his Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled down the steep driveway of his home in Los Angeles and pinned him to his brick fence. He died of blunt traumatic asphyxia.
The Jeep model (2015 and 2015) was part of a massive recall because the electronic gearshift was difficult to put into park, drive or reverse.

She passed away on December 27 following four days in intensive care at UCLA Medical Center. She was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack on a plane while on her way home from the European leg of her book tour.
